Ngata For President

Baltimore’s Haloti Ngata wasted no time against Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez.  Welcome to the jungle Sanchez!  Ngata picked off Sanchez’s first pass and returned it for a TD putting the Ravens on the board.  This 6-foot-4, 345 pounder made it look simple, strolling into the end zone on a 25-yard run. Ngata had this to say regarding the pick:

“My stomach swallowed it and all I had to do was put my hand on it and run. I was basically able to just walk in.”

Alright, maybe he’s not going to run for president anytime soon, but he’s certainly stating his case for a Pro-Bowl spot this year!  And he better get it…

That’s three INTs (Ray almost had one last night) by our defense in two preseason games.  Of those three, two were returned for TD’s.  Of those three, each of our defensive lines have represented: DT Ngata; LB Jameel McClain and DB Derrick Martin.

Yeah, yeah- it’s only preseason but it sure didn’t feel like it.  Bart Scott was jawing and you know for a man like Rex Ryan, it’s all about pride.  There was other highlights and a fair-share of low-lights but the Ravens won 24-23.  They have today off and need to get back to work tomorrow.

Next up: Carolina Panthers, Saturday night 8 p.m.

     Go Ravens!

  1. What a catch! Ngata with the pick-six. It definitely had a regular season atmosphere in the first half. Ray should have had a TD of his own. The defense looks to be in mid season form and I’m ready for some football.
