Kids compete for big-league broadcasting opportunity with the Birds
WHAT: ESPN Zone and the Baltimore Orioles will give the next generation of sports announcers their first crack at the big leagues during ESPN Zone’s Junior Broadcaster competition.
Children 12 and under will have the opportunity to showcase their sports announcing skills with the winners earning a VIP experience in the broadcast booth at Camden Yards.
The Junior Broadcaster competition will take place on Thursday, September 3 at 6 p.m. Contestants will sit behind a microphone on set at ESPN Zone and call their best play-by-play for one of four Orioles plays. Orioles broadcasters Tom Davis and Jim Hunter will provide feedback for the children and select four winners.
The Junior Broadcaster champions will win a VIP experience in the broadcast booth at an upcoming Orioles game, where they can learn from the pros. They’ll also receive tickets to the game.
