Baltimore Celebs Shine At Special Olympics

Friday night, Towson University:

Kimmie Meissner.  Adam Terry.  Joe Flacco. Local sports stars helped celebrate the Opening Ceremony for the 2009 Special Olympics of Maryland.

It was a grand event with Miss Maryland, Miss Teen Maryland and reps. from the Maryland State Police and other police forces joining in for the action. So many others got involved to make this a memorable night.

Adam Terry serenaded the entire crowd with the song, You’ve Got A Friend (James Taylor/Carol King).  Aside from the one time Terry got tripped up on the words, he sounded sweet.

Joe Flacco pleaded to all the crowd for the color purple.  But asked that one fan in particular (the winner of his raffled jersey) be a Ravens fan, or at least become one. Most in attendance were faithful to the purple, but there was a small portion who were all about the Redskins.

The real stars of this event were….the Olympians themselves.
